Quality of Barska Optics

Some people that have no any idea about Barska products sometimes doubt about the quality of Barska optics. And to be honest, there are some reasons behind that.

I think it’s because of some optical products, such as cheap class binoculars or zoom binoculars.

Some people may not know that Barska manufactures not only cheap class optics but high class binoculars as well.

When it comes to zoom binoculars, generally speaking serious companies, such as Zeiss, Nikon, Leupold, Maven, Swarovski, Steiner, Carson, Vortex don’t manufacture zoom binoculars because they know that zoom binoculars can’t deliver high quality image.

Though Nikon offers only two zoom binoculars. So, if Barska manufactures zoom binoculars it doesn’t necessarily mean Barska binoculars are bad.

They just respond and satisfy the needs of a certain group of people (customers) that want zoom binoculars. That’s why Barska optical devices are different.

They have cheap, medium and high class optical devices. As I said, Barska high-end binoculars can easily compete with other brands like Nikon, Wingspan, Vortex, Carson.

Also, note that if some Barska binoculars are manufactured in China it doesn’t mean they are bad quality.

Many companies including Apple assemble they products in China to reduce their production costs. This in no way affects quality of their products.

This series of binoculars includes both cheap and medium class binoculars.

Some of them have BK-7 or BAK-4 prisms, multi-coated or fully multi-coated optics.

Most binoculars are zoom optical devices which is an arguable feature in binoculars.

Image quality in zoom binoculars is inferior to standard binoculars with fixed magnification. For this reason many people don’t like them and avoid.

 

I can’t say zoom binoculars are completely worthless. If you need a magnification 50x and above, zoom binocular is not a bad choice.

Because they produce acceptable or decent image quality and are reasonably priced.

Standard high power binoculars with fixed magnification 50x and above are very expensive, around $1,500-$2,000.

Most people can’t afford it. So, zoom optical devices is the solution.

This series is made for outdoor activities like looking at distant objects or for astronomical purposes. They must be used with tripod only because of the weight.

The objective size is between 70 and 80mm which means binoculars are bulky. If you use them without a tripod you will experience unsteady image.

Binoculars have BAK-4 prism and multi-coated optics which provides good image quality.

They are not waterproof or fog-proof and in fact, you don’t actually need it.
